To help build a better understanding of our players across the game there will be a participation survey sent over the coming weeks.
Doing so will allow better insight to inform planned projects on the use of alternative formats of the game in the future and support player retention strategies. The survey will also give a chance to better understand what the impact of the pandemic has been on players appetite to play and their intentions to return as restrictions are eased.
Key Purpose of Survey
The RFU will be conducting surveys with two different participation groups:
- Our own rugby playing audience (players, parent etc)
- A National representational sample of non-rugby players.
We are looking to address key questions such as:
• What participation we currently have from different playing groups and for which format of play.
• Barriers to participation
• Demand for alternative formats and their structure/support system
• Current thoughts around contact levels and returning to rugby re: COVID
Timeframes
The surveys are due to go out Wednesday (27th) and Thursday (28th) of next week. The surveys will be open for 2 weeks, closing on the 10th of Feb.
